Second Adam (Rom. 5)

In Eden's bloom, a fateful choice,
In Adam’s hands, from Serpent voice.
A taste of fruit, the birth of Death,
Sin's bitter seed and Godless breath.

In Man’s fall the curse descends,
Mortality's grip, that never ends.
Each child of man, inherits stain,
A world of sorrow, wracked by pain.

But soon, a promise  from the Lord
Of Adam’s seed who’d crush death’s sword
The Second Adam, born anew,
To mend the breach; make all things new

Not flesh of earth, but spirit bright,
He walked our path, yet in light.
No taste of sin, no act astray,
He lived the truth, a paved the way.

Where Adam stumbled, Christ was strong,
His sacrifice, our joyful song.
Death's sting reversed, the chains unbound,
In Christ's redemption, life is found.

Complete the Victory, the gift He brings,
On Eden’s loss, and curse it springs.
The Garden's gate, once barred so tight,
is now flung wide, in glorious light.

No longer bound by earthly curse,
We rise in Christ’s new universe
As grace unfolds, love takes hold,
The Gospel spreads from ages old.

United now, in Christ's embrace,
His people’s souls in sacred space.
The stain erased, the burden gone,
In Him we live, forever on.
