Despising God's Mercy
Martin Luther
Although God hates sin, still He is more forgiving toward all other sins than He is toward the contempt of His Son; that is He cannot bear to have His mercy despised. Therefore it is easy to judge what is in store for the papal crowd, which condemns the doctrine of faith as the most noxious heresy and persuades people to look to the protection of merits or works.
