Sin, Death, and Alienation from God
Editor's note: freedom by faith presumes the need to be freed from something -- a curse. When God placed man in the Garden of Eden, he gave him free reign (literally) over all of creation, with one command: not to eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. When man ate of it, he plunged himself and the whole creation under a curse of sin, suffering, and alienation from God. The subsequent selected Scripture verses explain this in more detail. To know the freedom, joy, and peace of Christ, one must understand and feel the death sentence each of us is naturally under until we receive pardon in Christ for all our sin.
